East Lake High School
Description
I redesigned the East Lake High School website while in school there. The old template was not dynamic and was too difficult to update, as a result parents often received out of date information, and would call the school to important news. I spearheaded the redesign of the school website with Joomla. I was given a server by Pinellas County Schools and East Lake High was seen as a test bed and model for the rest of the Pinellas County Schools websites. I played a major role in the setup and configuration of the server as well as the delegation of tasks to the rest of the class. Numerous helpful features were added into the website including a staff directory, a directory of all of the classes at East Lake, and a directory of all of the clubs at East Lake. Site usage jumped upon the launch of the new site going from about 100 visitors a day to about 300 a day. I can proudly say that there was never a negative comment from any of the parents who viewed the website.
